115: Introduction To The Subtle Body

Yoga practitioners have long recognized that there is more to us than meets the eye!  We are more than physical, material bodies. Over the ages, several models have evolved to describe different aspects of the human experience. In this course, we will look at three different models of the subtle body that describe its architecture and we will look at Ayurveda, a holistic sister science to yoga that offers another framework for our experience.

Note for CE Credits: If you are a current teacher taking this course for Yoga Alliance CE credits, you may submit for 2 hours of credit in Techniques, Training and Practice and 1 hour of credit in Yoga Humanities via the Yoga Alliance website.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Define prana and describe the subtle body in your own words.

  • Describe the koshas, the nadis and chakra system.

  • how to support your students with descriptive language.
