Course Overview

The first step in learning to teach yoga is teaching position; after position, we teach action. Actions are the essential muscular engagements that bring the pose to life. In this course, you will learn practical and clear cueing techniques for teaching action that will enable you to deeply transform the experience of the pose and elevate your students' practice.

Note for CE Credits: If you are a current teacher taking this course for Yoga Alliance CE credits, you may submit for 4 hours of credit in Teaching Methodology.

I sweated over this course. There is a lot to digest, and for the novice student teacher (such as myself), very daunting! But so much useful, high quality teaching! I spent the full two weeks trying to take it all in. I'm sure I will come back again and again for some pointers on cueing tools, how to phrase something. I especially appreciated the different ways Rachel cued salabhasana, as this pose was tough for me to find the right language and the right sequencing to teach through the pose. Thank you Rachel!! Now it's time for a break!

I am working on my advanced yoga certification and I realise that I need help with cueing--more than what my 300 hour program provides (not with Do Yoga With Me). I am doing a sequencing course with Rachel and saw that she also has this cueing course, so I decided to take it. I am glad I did. I have a whole new set of tools to practice to improve my cueing. I highly recommend this course.
