113: Introduction to the Bandhas

This course will introduce you to the three bandhas, why they are important, how to activate and strengthen them and the role that the breath plays as you learn to create stability and cultivate energy in your yoga practice.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • describe where the bandhas are in the body and how to activate them.

  • Describe the benefits of strengthening the bandhas, physically and energetically.

  • Integrate the bandhas into a yoga practice by using your breath.

    David is a yoga and meditation teacher with 15 years of teaching experience and 25 years of practice. His knowledge of the various aspects of yoga and meditation, particularly functional anatomy, relaxation, sleep and anxiety, have informed his teaching and allowed him to help others realize their potential. David lives in Victoria, BC, Canada with his wife, son, step-daughter, two cats and six chickens.
