    Sutras 1

I just completed this course and Tracey smashed it for me. It was a lot for me to take in but having gone over it a couple of times, it all makes perfect sense. Great to have a better, deeper understanding and taught in such a pleasant manner. Thank you and I'm looking forward to doing my best to put it all in my everyday life! Namaste Gillian

    Amazing

Thank you so much, Tracey, for helping me to understand the power of my consistent daily practices - I knew something was happening inside me and now I think I get it. I look forward to learning and growing more.

108: Sutras 1

This course will introduce you to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, a very important text that established the seeds of the yoga practice of mindfulness and self-study more than 1700 years ago.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify Patanjali and describe the timeline of the Yoga Sutra.

  • Define and identify the importance of the sutra, yoga citta vrtti nirodhah, or "yoga is the restraint of the fluctuation of the mind."

  • Identify the five types of mental activity and describe the principles of practice (abhyasa) and non-attachment (vairagya).
